Course Objective:
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of those learners who are employed and involved in Wholesale, Distribution or Mail Order Retail within the Wholesale and Retail field. This Certificate aims to equip learners to understand and acquaint themselves with the underlying principles of all the major areas related to distribution within the Wholesale and Retail sector, thus enabling them to become more effective employees.
On achieving this qualification, learners will be able to:
- Communicate both verbally and in writing
- Understand and apply mathematics
- Perform stock related functions
- Define the core concepts of the W & R environment
- Maintain a safe and secure Wholesale and Retail environment
- Receive stock in a Dc/warehouse, implement security procedures to prevent shrinkage and losses and enhance the efficiency of the supply chain by recording required information on stock being received
- Despatch stock from a Distribution centre
- Move, pack and maintain stock in a Distribution centre
- Break bulk, pack and label stock
- Set goals for his/her own personal growth
- Manage time and work processes within the business environment

- Learners who have worked in the Wholesale and Retail field for many years, but have no formal qualification in this area
